Roy Hill Mine
As part of critical infrastructure upgrades at Roy Hill Mine, SKS successfully decommissioned two legacy GUTOR 30kVA and one Symmetra 30kVA UPS units. The project involved reconfiguring existing UPS switchboards and installing two new ABB 80kVA UPS systems, complete with battery cabinets, bypass switches, submains cabling, iSTS, and new electrical feeds for communications infrastructure. A custom steel plinth was fabricated and installed, with all works executed without disruption to the client’s live data centre achieved through the deployment of temporary generators and cabling. Meticulous planning, collaborative safety workshops, and precision execution, including the use of a 20t Franna crane, ensured a seamless transition and zero downtime.
