Story behind the logo

Chris Johnson is the designer behind the Aboriginal artwork within the SKS Indigenous Technologies logo which reflects the tight connection that the Johnson and Jinks families share.

Chris Johnson said, ‘It was important that the artwork design portrays and symbolises the two families coming together where common values and beliefs are shared. Waterholes are a principal of life in the remote parts of Australia where people meet for physical and spiritual sustenance.’

The circles are waterholes and represent members of the Johnson and Jinks families, while the dots within each waterhole represent employees of the company. The waterholes are connected by flowing water, represented by curved lines that symbolise connection and unity between families and staff.
